The European branch of the Guneku Development and Cultural Association (GUDECA EU) held its 2026 gathering on Saturday, 28 March 2026 at the Fon's Palace in Bonn, Germany — a Michi Ébèng (Bonn edition), held deliberately on the same day Michi Ebeng was celebrated in Guneku village.

The dress code was traditional attire, and members were asked to bring traditional cups and baskets. Members travelled from Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg, Italy, France and Austria. The traditional Masangon dance formed part of the programme. Catering was organised by the women of the association and drinks by the men.

The meeting reviewed work already under way in Guneku and considered several new proposals put to the chapter. What follows is drawn from the official minutes.

Solar Electrification Phase II

Phase II of the solar electrification work is ongoing. Contributions of €800 were reported to the meeting.

Guneku CIG

The Guneku Common Initiative Group was presented as a business-oriented development structure for the community. Poultry farming was proposed as its first project, and a share price of 2,000 FCFA per share was reported to the meeting.

Proposals put to the chapter

Three further initiatives were proposed. None has been delivered; each is recorded here at the stage it had reached at the meeting.

  • Medical unit — a reference healthcare centre in Guneku.
  • Soap production — an income-generating initiative for the community.
  • Education and digital empowerment — satellite internet at the Palace, adult training in content creation, digital and virtual work, and skills for earning online.

New projects

Under new projects the meeting considered a proposed Guneku StarLink project, put forward by Sam Fongoh. Minutes of the meeting were circulated to all members on 6 April 2026.

Next meeting

The next GUDECA Europe meeting is set for the United Kingdom on Saturday, 24 July 2027.
