The USA branch of GUDECA recruited and posted a nurse to the Munam Integrated Health Centre in Lower Guneku, adding to the four already there. The contract was for three years, renewable.
The installation was carried out on Thursday 17 December 2020 at the health centre by Ndingwan Primus, Chairman of the Guneku Traditional Council, on behalf of the Fon and of GUDECA.
Munam Integrated Health Centre is a government structure. It offers general consultations, admits patients, handles deliveries and treats minor health problems, and it serves Munam and the neighbouring village of Sang. It remained functional throughout the crisis years.
The report described the posting as a beginning, with the situations at Fringyeng and Mbengeghang to be looked into next, and further GUDECA branches to follow.
