The Mbengwi Municipal Council, our council, has an approved 2026 budget of 907,250,000 FCFA, and schools in Guneku are among the projects in its development discussions.
At the council's 2026 mid-term budget orientation debate session, schools in Guneku were discussed alongside schools in Njinibi, Mbemi and Chup, the Chaa Bridge, the Zang Tabi electricity project, roads for Gundom and Chenam, water for Acha-Tugi and a bridge in Munam. Some communities have seen their projects completed, some have work under way, and others are still waiting for their priorities to be met.
What it means for Guneku
For our children, the schools matter most. The details are still to come: which Guneku schools are concerned, what the council plans for them, and how far any work has gone. We will publish them here as soon as they are confirmed.
Fondom Studios covered the session in a documentary report published on 24 September 2026: watch it on Facebook.
