The Mbengwi Council constructed two bridges, handed over to the people of Wumnembug around the annual general meeting of April 2025. One links Wumnembug to Njindom. The other links Wumnembug to Njinebai, a quarter of Guneku, and is therefore a direct road link into Guneku territory.
The handover was attended by the Mayor of Mbengwi Council, Ndangsa Kennedy Akam, and his deputy, Amadu Kadiri. The Mayor promised further bridges at Wumnembug.
The WUCUDA annual general meeting itself was held on Saturday 19 April 2025 in the Wumnembug community hall — the first such gathering at home in about seven years.
Not the same as the GUYODECA bridge
This is a council project on the Guneku boundary. The bridge built by GUYODECA, the youth wing of GUDECA, and completed in 2025 is a separate undertaking by a different body. The two are recorded separately and should not be merged.
